OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – For the second time in Johnson County men's soccer history, a player has been selected as the NJCAA D-I Goalkeeper of the Week. Sophomore Cole Stewart was honored for the second time this season after he saved seven of the eight shots he faced to help preserve a 3-1 home victory over No 19-ranked Neosho County.
Stewart's first selection as NJCAA Keeper of the Week was during the week of August 29 to September 6. He joins Pedro Ivaskowski who was twice honored during the 2019 season.
Stewart ranks third in the conference in goals against average (0.75), second in save percentage (.864) and ninth in total saves (19).
Last season Stewart earned All-Kansas Jayhawk Conference East Division second-team after posting a 5-4-1 mark. He logged 820-minutes between the pipes with a goals against average and a save percentage of .740.
