OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) recently announced the 2022-23 All-Academic Teams, recognizing student-athletes. Student-athletes are eligible to earn academic honors by achieving an overall GPA of 3.60 or higher for the 2022-23 academic year.
A total of 43 student-athletes from Johnson County Community College earned NJCAA All-Academic recognition this year with all seven sports represented. The baseball team led the way with 11 recipients, followed by softball and men's soccer each with 10, women's soccer with six, volleyball with three, women's basketball with two and men's basketball with one.
First-team honors went to 10 student-athletes that produced a 4.0 grade point average. Second-team honors went to 16 student-athletes with a grade point between 3.80-3.99 and Third-team honors went to 17 with a 3.60-3.79 GPA.
Since 1991, 610 Johnson County student-athletes have been honored by the NJCAA for academic success.
