No. 10 Cavaliers knock off No. 1 North Iowa Area Last Monday North Iowa Area took over the top spot in NJCAA D-II men’s basketball after Johnson County suffered its first loss of the season. This coming Monday, North Iowa Area will no longer be No. 1 after the Cavaliers rallied for a 76-72 victory Friday night at the Cavalier Classic.

JCCC’s Mike Jeffers to coach in 1,000th game Johnson County Community College head coach Mike Jeffers has reached many milestones in his hall of fame career. On Saturday he will add another to his long list when his team faces Iowa Western Community College in what will be his 1,000th game as a collegiate head men’s basketball coach.

Mays selected KJCCC D-II Player of the Week for a second time For the second time this season, Johnson County sophomore JaQuaylon Mays has been selected as the Kansas Jayhawk Conference Division II Basketball Player of the Week. He earned the week six honor over Mariquise Milton of Highland and Tyler Garrett of Labette. Mays earned his first award in week 3
