OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County goalkeeper Olivia Ways has been selected the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division I Goalkeeper of the Week for week seven. Dahien Cabrera of Barton was selected the Player of the Week.
The sophomore from Lincoln, Neb., picked up two wins last week. Ways opened the week with a shared shutout in a 4-0 win at Neosho County. She capped the week with a full shutout victory over Butler. Ways stopped all four shots she faced. For the season, Ways stands 6-4-0 and ranks fifth in the conference with 51 saves, and her .750 save percentage is tied for fourth.
During her freshman campaign, Ways was twice honored as the KJCCC Goalkeeper of the Week, earning the honor in weeks seven and week 10. She was 10-6-1 and a goals against average of 1.19.
