OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference recently announced the 2021 women's soccer all-conference performers, and Johnson County Community College had four players selected for the East Division teams. Earning first-team honors were sophomore forward Riley Porter and freshman forward Samantha Grynkiewicz. Second-team honors were presented to freshman forward Monique Fair and freshman defender Claire Middleton.
Porter led JCCC this season in both goals scored with nine and total points with 18. Her nine goals tied for eighth in the conference, and her 18 points tied for 12th. She also led the squad with two multiple-goal matches. During the season, she had two spans where she scored a goal in three consecutive matches.
Grynkiewicz finished the season with a goal and five assists for seven points. Her five assists led the team and her seven points tied for fourth. Her five assists also tied for ninth in the conference. Grynkiewicz also led the team with two game winning goals.
Fair and Middelton were part of JCCC's defensive pool in the back that allowed only 19 goals, a goals against average of 1.23 with four shutouts . Fair helped out offensively with a goal and two assists for four points. Her only goal proved to be the game winner in a 4-3 comeback victory over Coffeyville (10-6-21).
Middelton finished with two goals and two assists for six points. In the win over Coffeyville, Middleton was credited with the game tying goal in the 83rd minute and two minutes later provided the assist on Fair game winner. She also scored the game winner in a 3-0 win over Neosho County with a penalty kick goal to open the scoring.
