OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Sophomore Maddox Fergus of the Johnson County Community College women's soccer team was named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division II Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week for week four.
This marks the third consecutive week Fergus has received conference honors, and now a Lady Cavaliers player has been recognized in all four weeks of the season. Johnson County is the only program to be represented in every weekly award this season.
Fergus, who is the reigning NJCAA Division II Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week, held Neosho County scoreless last week in a 2-0 victory, stopping all four shots she faced to post her third shutout of the season and 10th of her career last week. The shutout moves the sophomore into a tie for the eighth spot on JCCC's career shutout list. With the shutout victory, Maddox improved to 3-0-1 while lowering her GAA to 0.89 this season.
Through four weeks on the season, Fergus is tied for the lead in the conference and tied for fifth nationally in shutout. She ranks second in the conference in victories, third in save percentage (.833) and goals against average (0.89) and fifth in saves (20).
