OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - For the third time this season, a Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 2 women's soccer team has swept KJCCC D-II Women's Soccer Player of the Week honors with Johnson County Community College's sophomore forward Maya Wallace and sophomore goalkeeper Katie Stoskopf bringing this week's honors. JCCC also swept in week three and Neosho County swept the honors in week five.
Wallace becomes the second three-time award winner in the conference this season after scoring a total of four goals last week, two in a 6-0 win over Central and two in a 5-0 win over Neosho County. Her first goal against the Panthers proved to be the game-winner. Wallace currently ranks second in the KJCCC in points (32), fourth in goals (12), and is tied for first in assists (8).
Stoskopf posted her KJCCC-leading sixth shutout on Wednesday, stopping both shots she faced in a 6-0 win. She also leads the conference in fewest goals allowed (1), GAA (0.15), save percentage (.933) is tied for the lead in wins (5). Nationally she leads in fewest goals allowed and GAA, ranks third in save percentage, and tied for fourth in shutouts.
