Young named KJCCC D-II Goalkeeper of the Week for fourth time in five weeks

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – For the fourth time in the first five weeks of the 2025 season, Johnson County Community College sophomore goalkeeper Avery Young has been selected  the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division-II Women's Goalkeeper of the Week.

Young continued her dominance in net last week, extending her shutout streak to 596 minutes, 4 seconds. Young has not allowed a goal in her last eight starts, while guiding the Cavaliers to a 3-0-0 record with one solo shutout and one combined.

She opened the week by blanking Highland over the first 45 minutes of a 4-0 victory, then turned in a five-save performance in a 2-0 road shutout at Neosho County. Young capped the week by stopping both shots on target from Pratt through 62 minutes before yielding to a teammate in a 3-0 victory.

For the season, Young is a perfect 9-0-0 with three solo clean sheets and four shared shutouts. Her 0.14 goals-against average leads all NJCAA Division II goalkeepers.
