OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) Division II announced its 2025 women's soccer awards and Johnson County Community College led the conference with eight all-conference honorees. The Cavaliers also led the conference with seven first-team selections.

Johnson County also swept the KJCCC D-II Specialty Awards with sophomore midfielder Brecken Hoy being selected the Offensive Player of the Year, sophomore center back Ashley Chaput earned Defensive Player of the Year and Jim Schwab being name the KJCCC D-II Coach of the Year.
Earning first-team honors along with Hoy and Chaput were sophomore defender Carson Sloan, sophomore goalkeeper Avery Young, sophomore forward Tatum Bresette, sophomore midfielder Lily Marshall and sophomore midfielder Carmen Duarte. Sophomore defender Eleanor Marshall was a second-team selection.
These eight players have helped lead Johnson County to a perfect 20-0-0 record, conference and region titles and No. 1 national ranking. Hoy and Lily Marshall were also first-team all-conference selections last year.
For Schwab, this is the second consecutive year and third time overall he has been selected Coach of the Year for the conference. He has led JCCC to a third-straight KJCCC D-II regular season title along with a second straight Region 6/9 postseason tournament title. The Lady Cavaliers are set to face Iowa Lakes Community College in the NJCAA D-II North Plains District Tournament Championship Match on Friday.
The Cavaliers are the only unbeaten team in NJCAA Division II women's soccer and have been ranked among the top two nationally all season, holding the No. 1 spot the final two weeks. The Cavaliers rank among the top offensive and defensive teams in the country. Offensively thyey rank third in points (277), fourth in goals (94) and first in assists (89). On the defensive side JCCC leads the country in fewest goals allowed (4) goals against average (0.20) and shutouts (16).
Hoy has been instrumental in helping orchestrate a Johnson County offense that averages 4.7 goals per contest. She leads the conference and ranks tied for second in the NJCAA with 20 assists. She also leads the conference with 48 points and ranks second in goal scored with 14. She also leads the conference and is tied for second nationally with seven game-winning goals, which also ties her for third-most in team history. Earlier this season, Hoy was named the KJCCC D-II Offensive Player of the Week picking up two key game winning goals during the fourth week of the season.
Chaput, along with Sloan and Marshall, are three of five Cavaliers players to appear in and start all 20 matches this season. They have helped anchor a JCCC back line that has allowed only four goals the entire seasons while winning 16 of their 20 matches by shutout. Of the four goals conceded by JCCC, no team has been able to score more that one goal in a match, which includes the last seven being won by shutout. Chaput and Sloan have come forward to help out on the team's offensive production.
Chaput has tallied 14 points with six goals and two assists, and in the final week of the regular season she was named the KJCCC Offensive Player of the Week after playing a pivotal role in helping the Cavaliers overpower No. 12 Kansas City Kansas to clinch a conference title. Not only was she an enforcer on the back line, but she was also equally impressive by contributing to four of JCCC's five goals with two goals and two assists, including the game-winner.
Sloan has produced six points with a goal and four assists, with one leading to the game-winning goal against Southeast on September 24.
It should be no surprise that Young was tabbed as the top goalkeeper in the conference. The transfer from Baker was selected the KJCCC D-II Goalkeeper of the Week in eight of the 10 weeks and twice was named the NJCAA D-II national winner. Young stands 18-0-0 with eight full and six shared shutouts. She has allowed only three goals all season boasting a goals against average of 0.19 and save percentage of .957. She leads the country in wins, ranks second in GAA and save percentage and third in fewest goals allowed and shutouts.
Bresette, the only JCCC player to be selected the KJCCC D-II Offensive Player of the Week twice this season, ranks second on the team in points with 28 and assists with 10 and tied for second in goals with nine. She is tied for fourth in the conference in points, tied for second in assists and tied for seventh in points. In mid-October, Bresette had a huge week with four goals and five assists in road wins over Pratt and Southeast.
Marshall really picked up her production in the second half the season, moving into third on the team in points (24), goals (8) assists (8). In the final nine regular season matches, Marshall produced at least one point in seven with multiple points in three matches.
Duarte has proven to be an extremely valuable midfielder for the Cavaliers both as an offensive producer and defensive enforcer. She has come forward to help offensively with four goals and four assists for 12 points. Her most recent goal proved to be the game-winner in a 4-0 victory over Allen in the opening round of the Region 6 Tournament. She also has been key in helping the defense allow just four goals and post 16 shutouts.
