OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College softball player Kyleigh Whitehurst has been named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division II Pitcher of the Week for week four.

Whitehurst earned two victories for JCCC at the Branson Bash over the weekend as part of a 3-1 weekend for the Cavaliers. The freshman allowed five hits and two runs (one earned) over eight innings and struck out two batters in a 3-2 win over Des Moines Area on Friday before throwing in the circle again on Saturday, where she surrendered nine hits and five runs (four earned) over seven innings with six strikeouts in a win over Northern Oklahoma College-Enid.

For the season, Whitehurst is 5-1 with an earned run average of 3.57. She has 25 strikeouts over 47 innings in the circle.
