Outlook

An outfielder and pitcher, Kayle Vest is expected to see most of action in the outfield, but will get some work in the circle during the campaign … Really compliments the starting pitchers, and will be good to bring in the game in relief.

Freshman Year 2021

Played in 10 games, eight as a starter … Batted .222 (6-for-27) with a double, home run, three runs scored and four driven in … Had two singles and an RBI in a 6-2 win over Iowa Central (3-6-21) … Belted a two-run home run in a 9-6 loss at Indian Hills (3-12-21) … Ripped a double and scored a run in a 13-0 win over Cloud County (3-27-21) … Singled and scored in a 12-4 win over the Thunderbirds in the second game of the double header … Had an RBI single in an 8-2 win at Highland (4-1-21).

Freshman Year 2020

Played in five games … Batted .385 (5-for-13) with a double, five runs scored and one driven in … Had an on base percentage of .500, which tied for the team lead … Stole three bases, second most on the team ... Was perfect in the field with three putouts and one assist … Her first collegiate hit was a single in a 4-1 loss to Jefferson (3-6-20) … Had a single,  double and scored twice  in an 11-4 win in game one over North Iowa Area (3-7-20) … Drove in a run with a single to help JCCC to a 3-1 win over the Trojans in game two (3-7-20) … Collected a single, walk and scored twice in a 10-1 win over Allen in what would be the final game of the season (3-10-20) ... Earned JCCC student-athlete academic honors in the fall 2019 semester ... Earned NJCAA All-Academic third-team with a grade point average between 3.60-3.79.

High School
Was a two-year starter and three-time letter winner for coaches Stan McAfee and Scott Teufel at Piper High School, Kansas City, Kan. … Graduated 2019 … Batted .271 (16-for-59) with five doubles, one home run, 15 runs scored and 13 RBIs  as a senior … In the circle as a senior was as 3-5 with 28 strikeouts in 38 innings of work … Drove in five runs with a double and a home run to help power the Pirates to a 21-2 blowout over Bonner Springs her senior year … Also picked up the victory in the circle, allowing just two runs on six hits with two strikeouts … Was part of a program that posted a 52-10 record over her three years, and won a Region title and finished fourth in 2017 at the Kansas 4A D-I State Tournament … Four-year honor roll student.
