Johnson County earns No. 4 seed in NJCAA D-II Volleyball Tournament

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The seedings and bracket has been set for the 2020-21 NJCAA Division II Volleyball Championship and Johnson County Community College will enter the tournament as the No. 4 seed overall. The tournament has a field of 16 teams, and all matches will be played at the Alliant Energy Powerhouse Arena in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Tuesday through Thursday, April 13-15.

The Lady Cavaliers (23-2) will open the tournament against No. 13-seeded Pima Community College (3-7) at Tuesday, April 13 at 3 p.m. (CT)

Under the leadership of coach Jennifer Ei, the Lady Cavaliers will make their eighth national tournament appearance in 13 years, and the 17th all-time. Ei guided JCCC to runner-up finishes in 2008 and 2010, and third-place finishes in 2013 and 2018. Her nine national tournament appearances are second only to KJCCC and Barton Community College legendary coach Ray Bechard.

Also in her 13 seasons, Ei has had her team appeared in 114 of 121 NJCAA Coaches Polls, including 61 times in the top-dive, and five weeks at No. 1. Her teams have finished in the top five in six of the 13 season ending polls, including a No. 4 ranking this year.
