OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and United States Marine Corps (USMC) announced that the Johnson County Community College volleyball team earned a USMC/AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll Award for the 2020-21 season. The Lady Cavaliers are one of only six two-year schools to receive this honor.
The top-20 percent of team GPAs from each division are designated at Team Academic Honor Roll schools, representing the highest scholarly achievement in the sport of volleyball. The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale. The JCCC volleyball team posted a grade point average of 3.65 in 2020-21.
On the court in 2020-21, the Lady Cavaliers were National Champions of NJCAA Division II. It was the programs second title, and first since 2005.
