Johnson County volleyball ranked No. 1 for fifth straight week

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County Community College volleyball team retained the No. 1 spot in the NJCAA D-II national poll for the fifth consecutive week.  The Cavaliers are off to the best start in program history at 24-0 and stand 7-0 against national ranked teams. 

Johnson County is not only winning its matches, but they are also dominating their opponents. JCCC has a set record of 72-4 and have swept 21 of their 24 opponents.

Johnson County has several players who are among the top producing players in the conference. Sophomore outside hitter Jadyn Troutman ranks first in hitting percentage (.384), block assists (95) and total blocks (109, third in kills (215) and sixth in kill per set (3.26). Troutman has been selected the KJCCC D-II Offensive Player of the Week twice this season. 

Sophomore outside hitter Taylor McCarthy ranks second in kills (223), eighth in kills per set (3.10) and fifth in hitting percentage (.297). She was selected the KJCCC D-II Offensive Player of the Week in week four. 

Sophomore setter Lauren McClure ranks sixth in assists (438), sixth in assists per set (6.54) and fifth service aces (34). She was selected the KJCCC D-II Setter of the Week in week one. 

Sophomore libero Addyson Mock ranks third in digs (357) and fourth in digs per set (4.76). 

Freshman setter Sydney Fiatte ranks eighth in assists (288) and 10th in assists per set (4.06).

Freshman outside/middle hitter Sophia Ewy ranks second in block assists (52) and total blocks (57). 

Johnson County will look to extend its win streak to 25 straight tonight when they host Labette Community Collge at 6 p.m.  Two days later they travel to Arkansas City, Kan., to face No. 2 and undefeated Cowley College (19-0).
