Ronnebaum signs with Army West Point for 2021-22

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College right-handed pitcher Matt Ronnebaum (Blue Valley West HS/Overland Park, Kan.) has signed a national letter-of-intent to continue his baseball career at Army West Point coached by Jim Foster. In four seasons at the helm, Foster has guided Army to a pair of Patriot League crowns. Ronnebaum will join the Black Knights' program in the fall of 2021.

In last spring's shortened season due to COVID-19, Ronnebaum appeared in six games, four as a starter. He finished 3-0 with one complete game and one save. He posted an earned run average of 3.47 with 31 strikeouts in 23.1 innings of work. 

Ronnebuam is also an outstanding student, earning JCCC student-athlete academic honors in the fall 2019 semester, and NJCAA All-Academic second-team honors in the spring 2020 with a grade point average between 3.80-3.99.

At Blue Valley West High School, Ronnebaum was a three-year starter for coach Joe Allison. As a senior he was named second-team Kansas 6A All-State and first-team All-Sunflower League.
