History Made: Cavaliers go unbeaten in conference, extends streak to 38

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - The No. 1-ranked Johnson County Community College baseball team closed out its historic regular season in dominant fashion Friday, completing a four-game sweep of Fort Scott with a pair of decisive road victories.

With the wins, the Cavaliers improved to 54-2 overall and a perfect 32-0 in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference play, becoming just the second program in conference history to finish league competition undefeated. Johnson County also pushed its school-record winning streak to 38 consecutive games.

In the opener, JCCC rolled to a 13-3 victory behind a relentless offensive attack that produced 12 hits and seven walks. Brayden Giesler powered the lineup, going 2-for-4 with a grand slam and five RBIs, breaking the game open early. Ashton Hartwig added three hits and two RBIs, while Logan Groh also homered and drove in two runs as part of a balanced effort.

On the mound, Ashton Nance improved to 12-0, striking out five over three innings of work. The bullpen combination of Cooper Frazier and Cale Sudderth limited Fort Scott to just one run over the final four innings to secure the win.

The Cavaliers followed with an emphatic 20-1 victory in the finale, erupting for 20 runs on 16 hits. Ryan Bradford led the charge with a 4-for-5 performance, scoring five runs and driving in three. Colin Coonradt added four RBIs, while Lukas Wilson contributed three RBIs in the rout. All three hit a home run to up the team's season total to 176.

Victor Christal earned the win to move to 10-0, striking out eight over three innings. The JCCC pitching staff combined for 12 strikeouts and allowed just three hits in the game.

Johnson County now heads into postseason play carrying unprecedented momentum, having completed a perfect conference season while continuing to rewrite the program's record book.
