OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Johnson County Community College continued its historic run on Thursday, sweeping the first two games of a four-game series against Kansas City Kansas while extending its program-record winning streak to 28 games and improving to 44-2 on the season.

The Cavaliers' relentless offense remained the headline, as JCCC blasted eight more home runs on the day to push its nation-leading total to an eye-popping 156.

JCCC wasted no time asserting control in the opener, rolling to a 12-1 victory behind a dominant first inning and a power surge that never let up. The Cavaliers plated six runs in the opening frame and never looked back, adding insurance in the fourth and fifth innings to secure the run-rule win.

Boston Bruce led the charge, going 3-for-3 with two home runs and five RBI, while Logan Groh drove in four runs. Ashton Hartwig also went deep as part of a three-homer effort in the game. On the mound, Liam Roche was sharp, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out seven over five innings.

If game one set the tone, game two amplified it.

The Cavaliers erupted for an 18-4 win in the nightcap, using a pair of big innings to blow the game open and complete the sweep. After building an early lead, JCCC broke things wide open with a three-run third and a seven-run sixth inning.

Ryan Bradford powered the offense with two home runs and five RBI, while Lukas Wilson delivered a monster performance with two homers and six RBI. Colin Coonradt also added a home run as part of a five-homer barrage in the second game alone.

JCCC finished the day with 30 runs on 26 hits across the two games, showcasing the depth and explosiveness that has made them one of the most feared lineups in the country.

On the mound, Ronin Vicenti earned the win in game two, allowing four runs (three earned) over six innings, while Braylon Brooks closed the door the final inning.

With the sweep, the Cavaliers continue to build on what is already a historic season. The 28-game winning streak marks the longest in program history, and their 156 home runs set the pace nationally as JCCC continues to rewrite the record book.

The two teams will return to action Saturday to conclude the four-game series, with JCCC looking to extend its streak even further and complete the sweep.
