Cavaliers explode for 27 runs in doubleheader sweep of Labette

The photo shows a lively scene of a baseball team gathered on the field during what appears to be a celebratory moment. Several players in white uniforms with dark-colored sleeves, striped socks, and helmets or caps are jumping into the air, creating a sense of excitement and energy. One player in the foreground, wearing a white uniform with the number 10 visible, is leaping upward with an arm raised.
Around this player, teammates dressed in matching warm-up hoodies and baseball pants are also jumping, raising fists, or moving toward the celebration. A baseball bat lies on the turf in the lower right area of the image, suggesting the celebration may be connected to a recent play—possibly a home run or another significant moment.
The setting appears to be an outdoor baseball field with artificial turf. In the background, leafless trees, portions of the outfield fence, and stadium structures are visible. The sky is clear, indicating a sunny day, and the overall atmosphere conveys high energy, teamwork, and enthusiasm.

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — The Johnson County Community College baseball team showcased its offensive firepower and pitching depth with a commanding doubleheader sweep of Labette Community College on Thursday, winning 13-3 at home and 14-1 on the road.

In the opener at JCCC, the Cavaliers put on an offensive clinic, racking up 14 hits and 12 RBIs. Boston Bruce went 3-for-3 with two home runs and two RBIs, while Briggs Roe added three hits, two homers, and five RBIs. Colin Coonradt contributed a solo homer and three RBIs, and Ryan Bradford and Jack Jones drove in key runs. J

CCC scored six runs in the third inning alone, effectively putting the game out of reach early.

On the mound, Liam Roche struck out 11 over six innings, allowing just five hits and three runs, earning the win.

The second game at Labette saw the Cavaliers maintain their dominance with a 14-1 rout. Johnson County tallied 10 hits and 13 RBIs behind a balanced offensive attack.

Coonradt again paced the team with three RBIs, while Bradford, Isaac Pamaran, and Brayden Giesler each drove in multiple runs. Homers came from Bradford, Coonradt, Logan Groh, Giesler, and Trent Cornell, while Pamaran tripled and Roe doubled to ignite rallies.

Ronin Vicenti earned the win on the mound, tossing seven innings with six hits, one run, and nine strikeouts, keeping Labette's offense largely in check.

The sweep highlights JCCC's early-season dominance. The Cavaliers have now won all seven of their previous series, including four-game sweeps over Amarillo, Metropolitan, Pratt, Highland, and Coffeyville.

Johnson County (28-2) will complete the four-game series with the Cardinals on Saturday, March 21 at the JCCC Baseball Complex. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
