Cavaliers Launch Home Run Barrage in Rout of Baker

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Johnson County Community College unleashed one of its most explosive offensive performances of the season, powering past Baker behind a historic home run barrage for a 26-3 victory.

The Cavaliers set the tone immediately in the opening inning when Brayden Giesler crushed a solo home run, igniting what would become a relentless night at the plate. JCCC added to its lead in the second inning as Evan Damario launched a two-run shot, giving the Cavaliers early momentum and control.

The game turned into a rout in the third inning, when JCCC erupted for nine runs in one of its most explosive frames of the season. Logan Groh led the charge with a pair of home runs in the inning—a solo blast followed by a grand slam—highlighting a dominant stretch of power hitting. Ashton Hartwig added a two-run homer, and Colin Coonradt contributed a solo shot as the Cavaliers overwhelmed Baker's pitching staff and blew the game wide open.

JCCC continued the onslaught in the fifth inning, as David Dobbs, Briggs Roe, Giesler, and Trent Cornell each connected for home runs, further padding the lead and showcasing the depth of the Cavaliers' lineup.

Coonradt capped the scoring in the sixth inning with a three-run home run, adding his second long ball of the game and putting the finishing touches on an extraordinary offensive performance.

In all, Johnson County homered in five different innings tallying 11 in the game and saw multiple players record long balls, including multi-home run efforts from Groh, Griesler, and Coonradt. The Cavaliers' power surge proved too much for Baker, as Johnson County cruised to an emphatic win behind one of its most prolific hitting performances of the season.

Five different pitchers took the mound for the Cavaliers and combined for 14 strikeouts. Liam Roache started and got the win. He allowed two hits and no runs over two innings and struck out four batters. Ronnin Vicenti, Max Walschmidt and Braylon Brooks each pitched one inning of scoreless relief.
