Overview
Kaylin Watkins, who originally signed with UMKC, was part of a highly successful program at Bishop Carroll Catholic, and was a highly decorated prep player as both a pitcher and hitter … Will be battling for a starting spot in the circle, but will also serve as the staff’s closer … Ability to hit for power … If not pitching, will most likely be starting at first base.

Freshman Year 2021

Named NJCAA D-II and NFCA second-team All-American … Also earned All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference D-II and All-Region VI/District A first-team … Voted team MVP … Selected the KJCCC D-II Player of the Week in week 11 … Played and started 40 games … For the season batted .445 (53-for-119) with 11 doubles, 15 home runs, 28 runs and 50 driven in, all which led the team … Also led the team with 18 multiple-hit games and 16 multiple-RBI games … Her 15 homers tied the third-most for a season in team history and ranked fourth in the conference and 25^th in NJCAA D-II … Her 16 multi-RBI games tied the season record at JCCC … Opened the season with a single and double, two runs scored and two RBI in a 12-0 win over Marshalltown in the season opener (2-26-21) … Had a single, home run and three RBI in an 18-15 loss to State Fair (3-13-21) … Belted a three-run homer in a 5-1 win over Allen (3-19-21) … Had two singles and three RBI in an 8-2 win at Highland (4-1-21) … Followed with a three-run home run in a 12-0 win at Fort Scott (4-6-21) … Had two homers and four RBI in a 14-2 win over Fort Scott (4-17-21) … In the second game hit a two-run home run and scored twice in an 11-3 win over the Greyhounds … Went 3-for-3 with two doubles, two runs and two RBI in a 10-9 win at Allen (4-18-21) … Had a double and homer to help JCCC to a 10-0 win over Coffeyville in the first game of double header (4-24-24) … Followed with another double and home run in a 12-4  win in the second game …  Had a third straight game with a double and homer in a 4-3 loss St. Louis (4-27-21) … Went 5-for-7 with two double, a home run and eight RBI in a double header sweep at Hesston (4-29-21) … Had a second three-game stretch hitting a home run begging with a two-run shot in a 4-5 loss to Labette (5-1-2) … Had a single, home run and two RBI in 6-0 win in the first game at Kansas City Kansas (5-7-21) … In the second had two singles, a home run and three RBI in a 17-9 win .. Made 15 appearances in the circle, nine as a starter … Was 6-4 with 54 strikeouts and an ERA of 3.32 … Logged 65.1 innings, second-most on the staff … Allowed just two runs and struck out season high eight batters in a 4-2 win at No. 18 Labette (3-28-21) … Followed with seven strikeouts in a 9-3 win over Neosho County (3-30-21) … Had five strikeouts in a 14-2 win over Fort Scott (4-17-21) … Posted another five strikeout effort in a 12-4 win over Coffeyville (4-24-21).

Made two appearances in the circle, one a starter … Was 1-0 with an earned run average of 1.68 with 10 strikeouts in 8.1 inning pitched … Her 1.68 ERA ranked second in the Kansas Jayhawk Conference, and her 8.40 strikeout-per-seven inning ratio ranked tied for seventh …  Allowed a hit, walk and struck out three over 2.1 innings in her season debut, a 6-0 loss to Jefferson (3-6-20) … Was the winning pitcher in an 11-4 victory over North Iowa Area (3-7-20) … Allowed four runs, two earned, off three hits with seven strikeouts in 6.0 innings of work ... Also had 10 plate appearances, batting .300 (3-for-10) with two doubles, two runs scored and two driven in ... Her first hit was a double in the season opening 6-0 loss to Jefferson (3-6-20) ... Ripped an RBI double and scored in an 11-4 win over North Iowa Area (3-7-20) ... Had a single and scored in an 8-0 win over Allen (3-10-20).
