A multi-sport athlete as a prep, Ben Kobel has taken his game to a whole new level since arriving on campus and focusing on baseball only.

Freshman Year 2021

Played .471 (16-for-34) with two doubles, 13 runs scored and five driven in … Drew three free passes and stole two bases … Produced three multiple-hit games and one multiple-RBI game … Had a single and scored a run in his collegiate debut, a 17-7 over Southwestern (2-22-21) … Went 4-for-4 with four runs scored and two RBI in a 25-1 over Rockhurst JV (3-6-21) … Followed with a single and two runs scored in the second game with the Hawks, a 36-4 win … Had a single and a double, scored two runs and drove in a run in a 13-7 win over Baker JV (3-26-21) … Followed with two singles a run and RBI in a 23-5 win over State Fair (3-30-21) … Ripped an RBI double in a 25-0 win at Benedictine (4-27-21)  … Earned NJCAA All-Academic third-team with a grade point average between 3.60 and 3.79.

Freshman Year 2020

Played in six games … Batted .200 (2-for-10) with three runs scored and one driven in … Also drew two walks … Had three putouts and four assists with no errors for a fielding percentage of 1.000 … Credited with his first RBI in a d 21-1 win over Southwestern (2-22-20) … Had a single and scored in a 14-0 win over Kirkwood (2-28-20) … Had a single, a walk and scored twice in 32-0 blowout over Labette (3-5-20) ... Earned JCCC student-athlete academic honors in the fall 2019 semester.
