Cavaliers stay perfect, rout Fort Scott 72-43

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 1-ranked Johnson County Community College women's basketball team cruised to a 72-43 victory at Fort Scott on Monday night, remaining perfect at 22-0 overall and 4-0 in conference play.

The win extended JCCC's regular season winning streak to 85 games and its conference winning streak to 33 straight.

Freshman Anonda Ford recorded her sixth double-double of the season, finishing with 13 points and 14 rebounds — her second-highest rebounding total of the year — to help power the Cavaliers to the 29-point victory.

Sophomore All-America guard Layla Scott led all scorers with 17 points, connecting on 8-of-14 shots. She also added four rebounds and four assists. Freshman Jade Warren chipped in 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting, while sophomore forward Karlee Ellick contributed seven points and eight rebounds.

Sophomore guard Kara Stricklin filled the stat sheet with six assists, five rebounds, and four points.

Johnson County returns to action Wednesday, January 28, with a road trip to Neosho County Community College before coming home to host Allen Community College on Saturday, January 31, at 2 p.m.
