Stricklin earns KJCCC D-II Player of the Week as No. 1 JCCC stays perfect

OVERLAND PARK, Kan – For the 11th time in 13 weeks, a Johnson County player has earned Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division II Women's Player of the Week honors. This week's award goes to sophomore guard Kara Stricklin.

The sophomore guard poured in 25 points to lead the top-ranked Johnson County Community College women's basketball team to a 108-39 rout over Highland Community College. With the win, JCCC improved to 25-0 on the season as Stricklin connected on nine-of-12 shots from the field, including five-of-seven from three-point range. The 25-point outing tied Stricklin's career high while  she also contributed six assists and five rebounds in the victory.

For the season, Stricklin is averaging 9.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. She ranks third in the conference with 90 assists and has committed just 35 turnovers, giving her the second-best assist-to-turnover ratio in the league at 2.6.
