OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Five members of the Johnson County Community College women's basketball team have selected as All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division II performers for the 2025-26 season after helping the Cavaliers complete an undefeated season, win the Region 6 Championship and hold the No. 1 ranking all season long. In addition, head coach Ben Conrad was named the KJCCC D-II Coach of the Year. This 10th time in his 16 seasons as JCCC's head coach to be named conference coach of the year.
Layla Scott – First-Team All-Conference, Player of the Year
Layla Scott becomes the seventh player in the history of JCCC's women's basketball program to be selected as the conference Player of the Year. Scott is one of the most prolific 3-point shooters in KJCCC history. She has made 224 3-point shots over her two seasons at JCCC, which ranks second all-time in conference history. This year she became the second player in the conference to make over 100 3-pointers as a freshman and sophomore. She leads the conference in scoring (17.5) points, 3-point accuracy (40.4%), free throw percentage (79.1%) and assists (130). She ranks second in steals (70) and third in blocked shots (18). She has scored in 29 of JCCC 32 games, and topped 20-plus points in 11 games. Earlier this season, Scott became just the sixth player in the history of the program to score 1,000 points. She enters the national tournament with 1,130 points, currently third-most all-time. Also, this season, Layla was selected the Kansas Jayhawk Conference Player of the Week seven times, the most of any player in the conference.
Mia Adams – First-Team All-Conference, Freshman of the Year
Mia Adams becomes the sixth player in the history of JCCC's women's basketball program to be selected as the Conference Freshman of the Year. She ranks third on the team in scoring and fifth in the conference in scoring, averaging 13.4 points per game. She has scored in double figures in 23 games, and is coming off a game-high 20 points in the Region 6 Championship. Adams also ranks seventh in the conference field goal accuracy, making 47.2 percent of her field goal attempts.
Kara Stricklin – Second-Team All-Conference, Newcomer of the Year
Kara has a been a steady performer throughout her two seasons wearing a Johnson County uniform. Her freshman year she was a key weapon off the bench and this season she elevated into one of the top point guards in the conference. She averages 10.2 points, 3.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds and has knocked 57 3-point baskets. In week 13, Stricklin was named the KJCCC D-II Player of the Week. She ranks third in the conference in assists, fourth in made 3-pointers, second in 3-point accuracy (39.0%). Over her career she has made 122 3-point baskets which currently ranks her 12th in team history.
Anonda Ford – Third-Team All-Conference
Anonda Ford ranks second on the team and fourth in the conference in scoring, averaging 13.8 points per game. She also leads the team and ranks seventh in the conference averaging 7.7 rebounds per game. Ford has scored in double figures in 21 games this season, topped doubled-digits in rebounds a team-high eight times and leads the team with seven double-doubles. Twice during the season she was selected as the KJCCC D-II Player of the Week, earning the honor in weeks seven and 11.
Jade Warren – Third-Team All-Conference
Jade Warren is possibly the best sixth-person in the conference. Warren has been a key performer off the bench for JCCC this season, averaging 10.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 steals. She is shooting 51.9 percent from the field, fourth-best in the conference. She also has made 98 free throws, most in the conference, and her 72.1 percentage ranks fifth. Twice during the season Warren was chosen as the KJCCC D-II Women's Basketball Player of the Week, earning the award in week one and five.
