OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College head men's soccer coach Jeff Cole announced the addition of Michael Eade as an assistant coach for the Cavaliers program, bringing a proven winner with national championship experience and a strong track record of player development to the sideline.
Eade arrives at JCCC following a highly successful stint at the University of Central Missouri, where he served as an assistant coach from 2020-25. During that span, he helped guide the Jennies to an impressive 72-16-7 overall record, capturing two MIAA regular season championships, two MIAA Tournament titles and one NCAA Division II regional championship. Central Missouri also advanced to the NCAA Division II National Tournament in all four seasons Eade was an assistant, highlighted by a fifth-place national finish in 2021.
"We're excited to welcome Michael to our program," Cole said. "He brings a tremendous level of experience at the national level and has been part of building championship teams year after year. His ability to develop players—especially goalkeepers—and his attention to detail will make an immediate impact on our program."
Beyond the team's success, Eade played an integral role in developing some of the top talents in the country. During his time with the Jennies, Central Missouri produced four United Soccer Coaches and five Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association All-America selections, 10 USC and 12 D2CCA All-Region honorees and 23 Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association performers, including one Player of the Year and one Freshman of the Year. His influence extended off the field as well, with student-athletes earning numerous academic honors, including Academic All-America recognition and multiple all-district and all-conference academic selections.
Eade's connection to Central Missouri began earlier in his career when he served as a graduate assistant during the 2016 and 2017 seasons. That two-year stretch remains one of the most dominant runs in NCAA Division II history, as the Jennies posted a combined 47-2 record and captured the 2017 NCAA Division II National Championship with a perfect 26-0 season. The team also secured back-to-back Central Region championships, MIAA regular season titles and conference tournament crowns.
For his role in that historic success, Eade was part of the United Soccer Coaches National Coaching Staff of the Year in 2017 and earned back-to-back Central Region Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
Working closely with the program's goalkeepers, Eade helped oversee record-setting defensive performances. The 2017 squad tied the NCAA Division II single-season record with 21 shutouts, while senior goalkeeper Ana Dilkes earned National Player of the Year honors and set the all-time Division II record for career shutouts. In 2016, the Jennies recorded 19 shutouts and led the nation with a 0.30 goals-against average, allowing just seven goals all season.
Between his two stints at Central Missouri, Eade continued to develop talent at the youth and club levels, serving as a club and Developmental Academy goalkeeper coach for Sporting Blue Valley. He also gained valuable Division I experience with stops at Creighton, the University of Rhode Island and Bryant University, working with goalkeepers and contributing to scouting and match preparation.
Eade began his collegiate coaching career at Bloomsburg University, helping guide the Huskies to the second round of the NCAA Division II Tournament. He later added additional experience in 2014 as a part-time goalkeeper coach at Johnson & Wales University (R.I.), where he helped lead the Wildcats to Great Northeast Conference regular season and tournament titles and a berth in the NCAA Division III Championship.
"I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to join Coach Cole and the Cavaliers," Eade said. "JCCC has built a strong tradition of success, and it's exciting to be part of a program with that kind of history and ambition. I'm looking forward to working with the players every day, helping them grow and continuing to push the program forward both on and off the field."
A native of Buckhurst Hill, England, Eade brings an international background as both a player and coach. He played collegiately at Park University from 2007–10, earning MCAC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2008 and first-team all-conference recognition. He helped lead the Pirates to two NAIA national tournament appearances, as well as a conference championship and regional title.
Prior to his collegiate career, Eade trained with professional academies in England, including Luton Town's Youth Training Scheme and the Tottenham Hotspur youth system. He began his playing career with Buckhurst Hill Football Club, where he is now recognized as a member of the club's hall of fame.
Eade holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and management from Park University, a master's degree in instructional technology from Bloomsburg University, and a second master's degree in career and technology education leadership from Central Missouri. He also holds United Soccer Coaches Level I, II and III Goalkeeping Diplomas, a U.S. Soccer National A-Senior Coaching License and the USYS National Youth License.
Eade resides in Olathe, Kan., with his son, Beckett.
