OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Four different players scored for Johnson County Community College and goalkeeper Daniel Wozniak added exclamation point providing the final assist ss the men's soccer team took down Allen Community college 4-2 on Saturday in Iola, Kan.

The Cavaliers struck first in the 19th minute when sophomore midfielder Ben Points connected with freshman forward Khoi Woods for his team-leading eighth goal of the season. That would stand as the only goal in the first half.

Johnson County doubled their lead just two minutes into the second half on a corner kick set piece. Points lofted a cross into the box that sophomore defender Michael Bernabe headed home for his third of the season.

It appeared JCCC was cruising to  an easy victory when sophomore forward Tyler Beckford extended the Cavaliers lead to 3-0 with his second scored of the season, assisted by midfielder Thomas House.

However, Allen's Welile Mweli made things interesting, scoring twice in a span of just one minute and 13 seconds to pull the Red Devils within one with more than 30 minutes remaining.

The Cavaliers sealed the victory in remarkable fashion. Wozniak launched a booming punt from his own box that bounced over Allen's back line and goalkeeper, where freshman forward Sergio Hernandez Marques chased it down and buried it for the final goal, securing the 4-2 victory.

The No. 15-ranked Cavaliers will close out the regular season with two home matches this week. JCCC hosts Central Community College on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 5:30 p.m., before welcoming No. 5-ranked and defending conference and region champion Neosho County on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 7:30 p.m.
