Four JCCC starters put up double-digits to push past Central

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 9-ranked Johnson County Community College men's basketball team hit the road for the first time this season and returned with decisive 91-76 victory over Central Community College  on Tuesday night.  The Cavaliers shot an even 50 percent from the field and showcased a balanced offense,  with four of five starters scoring in double figures.

Sophomore guard Joey Robinson continued his strong early-season form, leading JCCC with 19 points to go with seven rebounds and five assists. The Blue Valley Northwest product went 6-of-10 form the floor, hit  three 3-pointers, and knocked down 4-of-5 at the free throws  Through four games, Robinson is averaging 18.0 points while shooting 63 percent.

Sophomore guard Aidan Wing, the team's top scorer at 18.5 per game and its most efficient shooter at 70 percent, followed with 18 points and 10 rebounds, earning his first double-double of the season. Sophomore forward Tavian Cruse added 17 points, and freshman guard Avian Webb hit for four 3-pointers on his way to 16 points. Freshman forward Bryce Walker paced the bench with eight pints

Merv Torrance led the Raiders with 19 points followed by Nino Nesbitt with 14 and Brody Johnson with 11.

Johnson County (4-0) returns home this weekend to host the JCCC Classic November 7-8. The Cavaliers face Iowa Lakes Community College on Friday night, and Southwestern Community College on Saturday.
