Balanced Cavaliers stay perfect with 105-74 win over Labette

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – For the fourth time this season, six Cavaliers scored in double figures as the No. 3-ranked Johnson County Community College men's basketball team rolled to an impressive 105-74 victory over Labette Community College on Wednesday evening, improving to 19-0 on the season and 3-0 in conference play.

Trey Fulcher led the balanced offensive attack with 22 points, while Tavian Cruse followed with 20. Bryce Walker added 13 points,  Joey Robinson chipped in 12 points, and Gavin Harvey and Aziz Jagne finished with 11 and 10, respectively.  

Cruse anchored the effort on the glass, pulling down a team-high 13 rebounds to record his eight double-double of the season. The sophomore now has 23 career double-doubles, moving him into a tie for third place on JCCC's all-time career list. Fulcher also posted a double-double with 10 rebounds - the first of his career - while Walker and Jagne each contributed nine rebounds.

Harvey was masterful at running the offense, dishing out eight assists to pad his league-leading total to 116 on the season while upping his career mark to 287, eighth-most all-time in program history.

Avian Webb added to a strong all-around performance off the bench with eight points, five assists and three steals.

Vontay Robinson led Labette with 15 points, followed by Josiah Harris with 13.

Johnson County will hit the road for its next two conference games, beginning Saturday, January 24, at Fort Scott, followed by a matchup at Neosho County on Wednesday, January 28.
