Balanced scoring, big second half help keep No. 3 JCCC perfect at 24-0.

OVERLNAD PARK, Kan. – The No. 3-ranked Johnson County Community College men's basketball team had six players score in double figures, including all five starters, as the Cavaliers pulled away in the second half to defeat Highland Community College, 81-67.

Leading by one at halftime, JCCC turned up the intensity after the break, shooting 59 percent from the field in the second half and converting 19-of-24 free throws to maintain its perfect 24-0 record on the season

Sophomore forward Tavian Cruse moved closer to the program's career double-double record, posting his 28th career double-double with 13 points and a career-high 19 rebounds, which ties the eighth-best game in team history. His presence on the glass helped the Cavaliers control the tempo throughout the second half.

Aidan Wing led Johnson County in scoring with 19 points, while Gavin Harvey filled the stat sheet with 14 points, six assists and six rebounds. Trey Fulcher added 11 points, and Joey Robinson and Jordan Mason each finished with 10 to round out the balanced offensive effort.

Highland was led by DJ Thomas with 20 points, followed by Colton Knoll with 17, but the Scotties were unable to keep pace with the Cavaliers down the stretch.
