No. 9 JCCC men’s basketball remains unbeaten with back-to-back blowouts at JCCC Classic

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 9-ranked Johnson County Community College men's basketball team continued its dominant start to the 2025-26 season, cruising to back-to-back victories over Iowa Lakes and Southwestern at the JCCC Classic over the weekend.

The Cavaliers opened with a 29-point win (79-50) over Iowa Lakes,  followed by an 87-62 victory over Southwestern Saturday evening.

Sophomore guard Joey Robinson led five Cavaliers in double figures against Iowa Lakes finishing with 17 points, four rebounds and three steals. Sophomore forward Tavian Cruse followed with 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting and tied for the team lead with eight rebounds. Sophomore guard Aidan Wing contributed 11 points and eight rebounds, while freshman guard Avian Webb had 11 points and seven boards. Freshman guard Trey Fulcher led the bench with 10 points and for rebounds.  Sophomore guard Gavin Harvey directed the offense with seven assists to go along with six points.

In the win over Southwestern, Wing had a game-high 18 points, including 16 in the first half, to spark JCCC to a 61–28 halftime lead and an eventual 87–62 win. Wing hit 7-of-11 shots, including 4-of-6 from 3-point range.  Webb followed with 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting and freshman guard Jordan Mason poured in a season-high 14 points off the bench, hitting 4-of-7 shots with two 3-pointers and making all four free throw attempts.

With the wins, Johnson County improves to 6-0 and will look to remain unbeaten when they host Southeast Community College on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
