Cavaliers close strong, roll past Central 92-61

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – With the game still in the balance with just over 10 minutes remaining, the Johnson County Community College men's basketball team elevated its play, closing the night on a dominant 31–10 run to secure a 92–61 victory over Central Community College on Tuesday.

Five Cavaliers scored in double figures, led by sophomore guard Aidan Wing with a season-high 22 points. he conference's most efficient shooter this season, Wing knocked down 8-of-13 attempts, including two 3-pointers, and added 4-of-6 free throws. He also grabbed eight rebounds, tying for the game high

Freshman guard Avian Webb contributed 13 points, sophomore guard Gavin Harvey tallied 12 points and a season-best nine assists, and sophomore forward Tavian Cruse and freshman forward Bryce Walker each scored 10. Cruse also matched Wing with eight rebounds.

Central was led by Nino Nesbitt with 14 points, followed by Merkv Torrance with 10.

Johnson County returns to action Friday, November 21, taking on Chandler-Gilbert Community College in the first-ever meeting between the programs. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
